WHAT TO WEAR

While we encourage everyone to put their unique fashion flair out there on the day, please note that the Club reserves the right to refuse entry to the racecourse if patrons and guests are not compliant with the following dress codes.

Race Wear & Member's Dress Code

Members must maintain a minimum standard of dress in all areas.

Below are the Members dress standards at Morphettville Racecourse. All Members and guests over 14 years of age are expected to maintain a suitable standard of dress in keeping with the standard of the Members’ Reserve. Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the national formalwear of their country.

GENTLEMEN

Acceptable clothing items include:

  • Collared shirt
  • Tailored trousers
  • Covered dress shoes
  • Tie/bowtie (optional)
  • Suit jacket (optional)
  • Strictly NO denim

LADIES

Acceptable clothing items include:

  • Appropriate race wear including; skirts, dresses, tailored pants and blazers
  • Dress shoes
  • Millinery (optional)
  • Strictly NO denim

PLEASE NOTE – Clothing items including ripped or torn denim, t-shirts, joggers, sandals, tracksuits, thongs, decrepit, dirty or torn clothing, any clothing items that display offensive material and fancy dress items are specifically not permitted in the Level 2 Members Area.

GA All Areas Dress Code

The GA All Areas Dress Code allows for a slightly more relaxed standard of attire than Members’ areas, whilst maintaining a neat casual standard of dress. Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the national formalwear of their country.

GENTLEMEN

Acceptable clothing items include:

  • Collared, sleeved or polo neck top
  • Neat, enclosed shoes (inc. Boat Shoes)
  • Clean trousers, shorts or denim (neat rips in denim are acceptable)
  • Neat, clean outerwear

LADIES

Acceptable clothing items include:

  • Appropriate race wear including; skirts, dresses, pants and jeans (neat rips in denim are acceptable)
  • Neat, enclosed shoes or dress sandals
  • Neat, clean outerwear

PLEASE NOTE – GA patrons dressing to this dress code will be able to access all GA areas on-course. Clothing items including t-shirts, joggers, mens’ sandals, tracksuits (including hoodies and athleisure), ugg boots, high-vis wear, footy gear, thongs, decrepit, dirty or torn clothing and any clothing items that display offensive material are specifically not permitted in any indoor GA areas.

Children under 14 years of age are expected to maintain a neat dress standard.

The SAJC reserves the right to refuse entry to the racecourse if patrons and their guests are deemed to be inappropriately dressed at their sole discretion.

GA Outdoor Areas Only Dress Code

The Outdoor General Admission dress code is our most relaxed standard of attire. Overseas visitors are welcome to wear the national dress of their country.

Patrons dressed in decrepit, offensive or dirty clothing are specifically not permitted entry to the racecourse.

Children under 14 years of age are expected to maintain a neat dress standard.

PLEASE NOTE – GA patrons dressing to this dress code will only have access to GA outdoor areas on-course. There are limited food options in these areas.

The SAJC reserves the right to refuse entry to the racecourse if patrons and their guests are deemed to be inappropriately dressed at their sole discretion.

Fancy Dress

Fancy Dress is allowed on-course in public areas, according to the following criteria. Anyone not meeting this criteria will not be allowed on-course.

  • The Fancy Dress/Costume must be in good taste. Means in no way can it be found offensive, lewd, or derogatory to any gender, ethnicity or religious group.
  • The Fancy Dress/Costume must not have any offensive or derogatory slogans or printing.
  • The Fancy Dress/Costume must cover all private areas for both Males & Females, and must not be susceptible to intentional or unintentional wardrobe malfunctions.
  • The Fancy Dress/Costume must not cover or alter the person’s facial appearance.

Fancy Dress/Costumes that adhere to the above condition will be permitted in GA outdoor areas and/or private function spaces if the SAJC has received prior notification of your intent to dress up.

In all instances where personal interpretation may be questioned by any party, the Morphettville Racecourse Management will have final ruling.

Under 18s

Children under 18 years are expected to maintain a suitable dress standard.

Children must be in the immediate presence of a responsible adult at all times while within the Members’ Areas.
