Rachele ready for Sportsbet Finals Day
Adelaide Crows star forward Josh Rachele hit the track early this week, putting in some quick laps on the Sportsbet Speedway—one of the headline attractions for Sportsbet Finals Day this Saturday at Morphettville.
Rachele was quick to get competitive, testing out the track against star jockeys Rochelle Milnes and Connor Murtagh, as well as leading trainer Richard Jolly.
“It was quite challenging at the start—some of us had our cars tip over a bit—but I really enjoyed it,” Rachele said.
“The key is to drive around the outside where you can see the track better because there are a few obstacles.
“I think I managed to get the win in the end, which is nice.”

The Sportsbet Speedway is a high-energy remote-control car racing event with a purpose: $100,000 in prize money will be distributed among local community groups and charities.
“What a great idea—it’s great for Adelaide and for getting everyone down to Morphettville,” Rachele said.
“It’s a great day to get dressed up, socialise, and enjoy the races. I’ll be getting as many people as I can to come along, that’s for sure.”
The winning community group or charity will take home $15,000, with $10,000 for second place, $5,000 for third, and $1,000 awarded to every participating organisation.
There are also opportunities for selected individuals to score big prizes of their own.
Milnes said the competitive spirit was definitely alive—especially racing against her partner, Murtagh.
“There was a bit of white-line fever out there—it doesn’t matter who you are,” Milnes said.
“It’s an amazing initiative and a really fun thing to be part of.”
