The South Australian Jockey Club (SAJC) is South Australia’s premier racing club, playing host to more than 45 days of racing action throughout the year at Morphettville Racecourse. The South Australian Jockey Club is home to a diverse multipurpose venue featuring functions rooms which are available to host events seven days a week. Our employees are spread throughout Hospitality, Tracks/Grounds Maintenance, Administration/Corporate, Operations and the Club’s external entertainment venue – The Junction.
Located on Anzac Highway and part of the South Australian Jockey Club, The Junction is a flexible venue – equipped and ready to cater for a variety of functions and events. With a number of function spaces, the venue is able to cater for gathering large and small and includes a Bistro, Sports Bar, multipurpose function room and a 40-machine gaming room.
Morphettville is about to commence construction on an exciting new event facility, with over 1000 seats of capacity across two levels, overlooking the racecourse and Adelaide Hills. Due for completion in mid-2023, this facility will form the cornerstone for events in the redeveloped Morphettville precinct.

Your Role:
As the Marketing Coordinator, you will:

Business Development Manager
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join our team and create and convert sales opportunities. Reporting to the Event Sales Manager, this role is responsible for building business and creating new revenue streams across all channels of South Australia Jockey Club. The role builds market position by locating, developing, defining, negotiating, and closing business sales with a view to increasing revenue and profitability for the Club.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Proven relevant experience within a sales role (MICE, sponsorship or hospitality)
- Ability to establish and develop long term customer/client relationships
- Ability to identify customer needs and balance organisational profitability
- Strong closing ability
- Proven ability to “leverage” clients
- Proven abilityy to research and execute a sales strategy to meet client needs
- Strong organisational skills
- Competent skill level in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
