Covid-19 Update

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements

Proof of double vaccination will be required prior to entry from 20 January 2022.

This decision – which has been taken by Racing SA in conjunction with all 25 South Australian clubs – follows the introduction by SA Health of the new Test, Trace, Isolate and Quarantine (TTIQ) model and the opening of South Australian borders on November 23, 2021.

As part of this industry-wide approach, anyone aged 16 and over intending to enter any South Australian thoroughbred racing venue for any purpose from 20 December 2021 will need to demonstrate that they have had at least their first COVID-19 vaccination.

From 20 December, anyone over the age of 16 entering Morphettville for any reason – whether they’re a club employee, a member, an industry participant, someone attending a function or just coming for a meeting – will need to have had at least their first vaccination and be able to show a COVID-19 Digital Certificate via their smart phone or via a printed immunisation certificate. From 20 January 2022, when entering the racecourse they will need to show proof of your double vaccination status.

If anyone over the age of 16 has an official SA Health medical exemption, they will need to provide proof of a negative COVID test result for the 72-hour period prior to seeking entry and full exemption details will need to be provided. If they cannot provide a valid exemption and are not vaccinated, they won’t be able to enter.

For further information regarding the announcement from Racing SA please see their media release here.
