Butters brings power to Sportsbet Finals Day

24 November 2025

Port Adelaide star midfielder Zak Butters was the headline attraction at Sportsbet Finals Day at Morphettville on Saturday.

Butters embraced the atmosphere as he made his way around the track and taking part in one of the day’s most entertaining events—the Sportsbet Speedway.

“It’s great to get down here at Morphettville for Sportsbet Finals Day, no better way to come out and have a ride,” Butters said.

“I think there’s still some good spots here to watch it from and plenty going on in the Sportsbet Speedway and all the activities around the track.”

This year’s Sportsbet Finals Day delivered a showcase of racing talent and community spirit, highlighted by the annual City vs Country showdown.

The event brings together the very best of South Australian racing, with both regions competing fiercely for bragging rights and a share in the excitement of the day.

But the action wasn’t confined to the track. One of the most anticipated elements was the Sportsbet Speedway, a remote-control car race with a serious purpose: $100,000 in prizemoney distributed among local community groups and charities.

Butters didn’t shy away from the competition, stepping straight into racer mode as he took to the track in the Sportsbet Speedway event.

“I think I’m highly competitive, so I think I went all right,” he said, clearly enjoying the light-hearted but spirited showdown.

Away from the football field, Butters admitted he has more than a passing interest in horse racing.

“Some of the boys at the club are in a few syndicates, so I definitely like jumping on and watching their horses’ race,” he said. “In a social setting, I don’t mind the horse racing as well.”
