Welcome to the first weekly news article where we shine a light on the Morphettville based racing community and how they fared at headquarters and beyond.
Now we have made it through the Kings Long Weekend we take a look at the results from the Parks track last Saturday, June 10th.
Current premiership leading stable, Richard and Chantelle Jolly continued their strong season form with a double, which included a Stable trifecta in Race 5 on Saturday.
The training duo also featured in the placings across another four races.
Richard Jolly was happy with the run of all three but was pleased with Noble Magnate crossing the line first.
“He has been running well, and deserved the win,” he said.
The Gordon Richards and Damian Moyle Stable had two winners on the day with a race-to-race double from Turfitt and Dixie Whistler.
Post race Damien Moyle spoke highly of Race 7 winner, Dixie Whistler.
“I just love this horse. She’s just tough and we train her hard and she keeps racing,” he said.
Over the border, it was a big win for Travis Doudle and Not Usual Glorious taking the honours in the Swan Hill Cup.
Carrying the most weight in a country cup race since 2005, Not Usual Glorious finished the race strong under Beau Mertens.
Doudle spoke highly of the heavy track specialist saying he’s just a fantastic horse to train.
“To come back from a second in the Warrnambool Cup and freshen up for this (Swan Hill Cup) it is just a credit to him,” he said.
Winners also came from the Macdonald and Gluyas (Walk Like and Angel) and Ken Sweeney (Zarace) Stables across the day.
After a week off this coming weekend, racing returns to Morphettville on Saturday June 24.
