A much bigger program awaits us on Saturday with 10 races set down for decision on the main track with the Adelaide Galvanising Industries Christmas Handicap (1200m) the headline act.

Weights for the feature are headed by the smart Chicago Storm from the David Aldridge barn.

I have a feeling some horses on the minimum will all be very competitive, in particular Wiggum.

Trained by Travis Doudle, he is sure to appreciate a firmer track surface than what he got last time out at Ballarat.

For Doudle, it would be a second Christmas Handicap success after Struck By won for the stable in 2023.

Wiggum’s jockey Ben Price will be chasing a maiden win in an event his father Simon Price won on three occasions in his outstanding career.

Naturally I will be cheering for Watchme Win, trained by my brother-in-law Andrew Gluyas and a galloper I have a small interest in.

In the final race of the day, the Fotobase Group Handicap (1600m), despite a poor gate I’m sure Full Of Courage can be in the finish with jockey Matthew Chadwick on board for his boss Chris Bieg.
