Terry’s Tips – February 21

19 February 2026

What a terrific day of racing ahead on Saturday at Morphettville with two listed races and one Group 3 race across the nine-event program on the Main Track.

Probably most importantly we see the running of the Group 3 Sportsbet Lord Reims Stakes (2600m) named in honour of the Kiwi superstar galloper who was a three-time winner of the Adelaide Cup (1987, 1988, 1989).

Supporting the Sportsbet Lord Reims Stakes (2600m) is two other feature races which will be decided on the day, the Sportsbet Cinderella Stakes (1050m) for the two-year-old fillies and the Sportsbet City of Marion Stakes (1200m) for the sprinters.

I am confident Bamyan Buddha will give you a great sight in the opener, the M&J Chickens Handicap (1600m) for trainer Grant Young and apprentice jockey Brooke King, so let us hope we can get off to a good start.

Looking at the big ones on the day, I am going firstly in the Sportsbet Cinderella Stakes (1050m) with Rebel Tuesday for trainer Phillip Stokes and jockey Jacob Opperman.

The Sportsbet Lord Reims Stakes (2600m) is a wide-open affair but two at nice odds are Samuel Langhorne for trainer Michael Kent and jockey Jason Holder and Arugamama for trainer Andrew Gluyas and jockey Tayla Johnstone, should both run extremely well.

In the Sportsbet City of Marion Stakes (1200m) I was so happy to see Sghirripa bounce back last time out and win the Sportsbet Durbridge Stakes (1100m) on January 31, and I am happy to stick with him again.

I can’t wait for Saturday and to cover all of the action on Racing.com with John Kelton. it’s going to be a fantastic day.
