Welcome to the 2026/27, the new racing season kicks off on Saturday with a nine-event card set down for decision on the Parks circuit at Morphettville.
The rail on Saturday is out three metres, and we are certain to be on a track at best comfortably in the soft range.
Returning journeyman Noel Callow has returned home and he will pilot the opening two favourites on the day.
Street Legal, which is long overdue for a maiden victory from the Phillip Stokes barn is his mount in Race 1, the PFD Food Services Maiden Plate (1250m).

Next up, Callow combines with the Richard Jolly and Chantelle Jolly stable aboard the talented four-year-old gelding Intellectual, in the ULE Hoof Oil Handicap (1000m).
Maxildo is racing in great heart, and he appeals in Race 5, the Sportsbet Same Race Multi Handicap (1561m) with Caitlin Tootell riding for her boss Jon O’Connor.
Snoopy Now never runs badly and in Race 7, the Sportsbet Blackbook Handicap (1400m) he is sure to acquit himself well and interestingly trainer Darryl Hewitt is applying blinkers on the galloper for a first time.
He also gets the benefit of a claim for jockey Alysha Warren, who has been enjoying recent success with his star sprinting stablemate Sir Now.
I’m hoping there is a winner or two or three or four amongst the above-mentioned runners.
