2024 Goodwood Luncheon

6 May 2024

Coming up this weekend, it’s SA’s ultimate sprint race, the Sportsbet Goodwood! To celebrate this final Group 1 of the 2024 Sportsbet Adelaide Racing Carnival, we’re celebrating Australia’s best sprinters on and off the track.

With the likes of Amelia’s Jewel, Bella Nipotina and (Robert Sangster winning) Climbing Star going head-to-head in this year’s Sportsbet Goodwood over 1200m, those choosing to enjoy their day from the Goodwood Luncheon will be treated to insights, tips and potentially some tales centering around the topic of ‘The Sprint’ from two special guests who know what it takes to win elite sprint races.

Damien Oliver

While not directly a sprinter, Damien Oliver has been successful in a host of sprinting races and currently holds the record for most Group 1 wins at 129. He amassed 11 Group 1 winners in South Australia, including 3 x Robert Sangster Stakes.

• Part of the elite club who has won the 'grand slam' of Australian racing including the Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate, Caulfield Cup and the Golden Slipper.
• More than 100 Group1 victories
• 2008 Australian Racing Hall of Fame inductee

Steven Bradbury

Our second guest is Australia’s first ever Winter Olympic Gold Medalist, Steven Bradbury. Representing Australia at four Winter Olympics, Steven knows the work required to compete at the highest level of sprinting in his sport.
He was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for his Olympic gold medal win and
was also inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.

Accompanied by a delectable four-course luncheon in the Adelaide’s newest, premium event space, the Wolf Blass Event Centre, there are only limited packages remaining for the Goodwood Luncheon, so be sure to book now!
