Morphettville Upgrades Update – August
After a great first race day of the 2023/24 season where we saw the first Group race taken out by the Richard & Chantelle Jolly-trained See You In Heaven, the team at Morphettville wanted to provide you with an update on exciting scheduled works and upgrades taking place around the venue.
Morphett Road Car Park Resurfacing Works
Temporary car parking arrangements Wednesday August 16 – early October, 2023.
The anticipation is building here at Morphettville as we round the final turn and approach the home straight in relation to the construction of the Wolf Blass ‘The Man’ Event Centre.
The building is cutting a more impressive figure each day as key elements are installed, such as the 6m high track-facing windows!
To accompany the opening of this fantastic new facility, irrigation works on the track, and as part of ongoing planned facilities upgrades, the Members car park on Morphett Road will be receiving a brand-new surface. This car park is an important part of our offering here at Morphettville, and the Board consciously made the decision to support the new event facility with a resurfaced car park.
A window of opportunity has opened in the project schedule, and, in order to ensure the safety of our valued members, industry participants, staff, and all visitors to Morphettville, resurfacing of this car park will be addressed as a priority.
In order to complete these much-needed works, temporary car parking arrangements will be implemented as of Saturday August 19.

Access to our Reception/Race Day Office will be as follows:
Monday to Friday
All visitors will have access to parking within The Junction car park off Anzac Highway.
Race Days
Please note all pedestrian entry to the race day will be via the Tramway Gate only as per the below map.
Car parking is available via the car park on the western side of Morphett Road, or, in The Junction car park off Anzac Highway.
Accessible parking will be via the Park Terrace entry upon presentation the relevant car park pass/accreditation.
Morphettville security staff will be stationed at entry and exit points to help with directions and parking.
The welcome wagon will be available to assist with transport from a temporary, signed pick up point at the Wedding Gardens behind the Derby Lawns.
Wolf Blass ‘The Man’ Event Centre
We are getting ever closer to completion!
Key milestones achieved in recent weeks have been the installation of 6-metre-high window panels on the first floor, which have been quite eye catching.
Internally, the ground floor has been coming along at a rapid pace, with walls being painted, wet areas being tiled, and the kitchen walls have received sheeting ready for painting also.
Track Irrigation
Aside from the purple pipe you may have seen trackside or on the Racing.com broadcast, phase one of the track irrigation project has been happening in the background and with works travelling around the track from the 2000-metre start to the 200-metre marker.
Further to the pipe works taking place, electricians have been on site to dismantle the old pump, preparing for the installation of the new system.
There is quite a bit happening at Morphettville, with these existing projects with more projects and upgrades on the horizon.
