Richards, Moyle claim treble delight
Trainers Gordon Richards and Damien Moyle record a treble on Saturday across two states and now have the favourite for next month’s Thousand Guineas at Caulfield.
At Morphettville Parks, Richards and Moyle collected a double with Bristler winning the Thomas Farms Handicap (1000m) and Fast Tempo claiming success in the Sportsbet Blackbook Handicap (1550m).
Richards and Moyle completed the treble and continued their fantastic start to the new racing season when Pretty Baby starred with a dominant victory in the MSC Signs Atlantic Jewel Stakes (1300m) at Sandown.
“She was amazing. Each run she gets better. Today, when Jamie (Melham) got off her, she didn’t want to get off her,” Richards said.
“I think she’s favourite for that now (Thousand Guineas), a lot of water can go under the bridge between now and then but it’s good to see that every start she has, she improves.
“It’s going to be exciting if she improves again from today.
“Damien does a lot of work with the horses, I’m sort of behind the scenes a bit now, I’m pretty proud of what he’s doing and proud of the horses.”

Bristler won from the barriers in an awesome performance over 1000m for jockey Isaac Sit, the seven-year-old gelding outlasting Light The Night and Vexatious Dancer.
Pretty Baby is now the talk of the stable, but Fast Tempo is also producing the goods, Saturday’s victory a third in the past four starts.
With jockey Jason Holder on board, he saw a gap with just over 200m to go and the gelding stormed home to beat Nicish by almost two lengths.
“He’s taken a long while to mature, in his head and physically, it’s good to see him doing things like that – it’s very pleasing,” Richards said.
“There was a bit of Stubby (Holder) magic there a couple of times.”
Victorian apprentice jockey Shayleigh Ingelse continued her recent good form, leading home Like A Tiger to win the Sportsbet Race Previews Handicap (1950m), a second win in three races for trainer Matthew Smerdon.
Jockey Noel Callow produced an amazing ride to lead Princess Painton to a thrilling victory in The Fotobase Group Handicap (2250m), while You Sexy Thing claimed the biggest win of the day, an over five-length success in the Adelaide Galvanising Industries Handicap (1250m) for trainer Travis Doudle.
