It was a case of third time lucky for Rohesia with an impressive come-from-behind triumph in the Sportsbet H C Nitschke Stakes (1400m) at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
Trained by Ben, Will and JD Hayes, the daughter of Hanseatic got clear space around the 400m mark and stormed home to win by almost two lengths.
Rohesia’s win, after two placings at stakes level across the border, was piloted by jockey Kayla Crowther, who rode a winning treble on the day.

Crowther piloted Brand Her Bold to victory in the opening event of the day, the Sportsbet Race Previews Maiden Plate (1250m), then led Clarence home in the Dominant Clean Sweep Handicap (Heat 8 of Festival State Sprint Series) (1250m).

The quest for back-to-back Port Adelaide Cup’s for Sir Kingsford received a big boost by winning the Holly O’s 18th Handicap (1950m) by holding Burning Bright and Exalted Fire, while Pure Bliss won the Rex Thompson 70th Birthday Handicap (1000m), the first win under the tutelage of trainer Grant Kluske.
