SAJC Board Update
After eight years on the SAJC Board, Bob Holton will be stepping down as Chairman to assist in a transition period for his ninth, and final year serving on the Board.
“During my eight years on the Board, I am proud of a number of exciting developments that will continue to resonate for many years to come and ensure the financial viability of our Club.
“To enable these developments, we made a number of huge decisions that I remain incredibly proud of. The redevelopment of the underutilised land for the Villawood development, the updated Club Constitution, three consecutive operating profits, the construction of a new Event Centre as well as the new maintenance facility and irrigation system are all great accomplishments during my time,” he said.
After receiving reappointment to the Board at Novembers AGM, Judith Jones will now step into the role as SAJC Chairman, with Christine Simpson moving into the Vice Chairman role.
2024 will see a new addition to the Board, with Sally Niehuus being voted in. Sally is an experienced People and Culture Specialist who has over 11 years of Board Director experience and the first female elected by members to the South Australian Cricket Association (SACA) Board.
After being elected to the Board in 2015, and returning again in May 2020, filling a casual vacancy, John Girvan will step down from his role on the Board after six years of service (2015-18 and 2020-23).
Ron Pratt has also stepped down after being reappointed to the Board in December 2020, and having served for a total of six years (2014-17 and 2020-23).
Morphettville CEO, Grant Mayer, thanked the outgoing Board Members for advancing the Club’s vision and furthering the progress of Morphettville.
“Both Ron (Pratt) and John (Girvan) have served the Board well and their ongoing commitment to seeing Morphettville move forward during their tenure has been commendable.” he said.
“I welcome Sally Niehuus as an incoming Board Member, her experience on the SACA Board will be an asset to the SAJC”.
“As we move into the next phase of Morphettville it is great to have Judith taking on the role as Chairman, supported by Christine as Vice Chairman as they continue to share their extensive experience.” he said.
