We are excited to host TAB Finals Day this Saturday at Morphettville. The day is set to celebrate country and regional success on a metropolitan scale with a day of quality racing at Morphettville.
Ahead of welcoming the best performers of the TAB Finals Series, we spoke with Marg Dyer, one of the hopeful owners preparing for the day.
Part of the racing industry for many years, Marg is a member of the syndicated ownership group of Melody Man and has been a part of his journey from birth as she also owned his mother, Extra Virgin. Trained by Jake Stephens, Melody Man enjoys the open air of the Inman Valley in the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Keenly anticipating the 6-year-old gelding’s run in tomorrow’s Skybeau Series Final, Marg and other members of the syndicate all met at university. One of her favourite things about owning a horse is the social aspect, “Especially being a part of a syndicate, it’s always thrilling when everyone is together to watch the horse run.”
With owners now living as far afield as Melbourne, Canberra, and Adelaide, Marg shared, “We probably would have fallen out of touch if it wasn’t for Melody Man”. All old friends now, they make the effort to stay in touch and have an annual meeting every year to discuss Melody Man’s performance.
Thank you, Marg, for sharing your story with us! We look forward to having you and your fellow syndicate members on-course this Saturday.
