Terry’s Tips – July 18

On Saturday we are racing on the Parks circuit with the rail back in the true position. 

Thursday the track was still sitting in the Heavy range but there must be some chance of an upgrade before we commence racing on Saturday. 

Feature event on the 9-race program is the Group 3 Sportsbet South Australian Sires’ Produce Stakes (1400m) for the two-year-olds. The Sires’ drew a capacity field of fourteen acceptors, with strong interstate representation. 

Early Sportsbet markets have the Phillip Stokes prepared Brevitas with Harry Grace to ride as the popular pick and if he can get some luck from a wide gate, he will certainly be hard to beat.  

I felt Garret Lynch’s veteran galloper Smiling Assassin seemed a big price in The Fotobase Group Handicap (2250m) with the ever-smiling Stacey Metcalfe to partner the gelding. 

Phillip Stokes and Harry Grace combine with the favourite Street Legal in the Ule Hoof Oil Maiden Plate (100m) and this youngster is busting to break through for a win and to my eye appears the pick of the card.
