We are finally here everyone – welcome to the 2026 Sportsbet Adelaide Racing Carnival at Morphettville and Saturday looks set to be an outstanding day – with a nine-race card on offer.
There is not one, but two headline acts on Saturday – with two Group 1s and over $2 million on offer – with a majority of Australia’s best jockeys heading to South Australia.
In the Sportsbet Australasian Oaks (2000m), both I and my Racing.com colleague John Kelton cannot go past Getta Good Feeling – it’s our best bet of the day.
The Danny O’Brien-trained three-year-old has won its past two races and will look to make it a triple treat on Saturday – but will be stepping up in distance again to 2000m.

In the next race – the Sportsbet Robert Sangster Stakes (1200m), I like My Gladiola, the bottom weight carrying only 54.5kg for trainer John McArdle, while John thinks Charm Stone will repeat its 2025 success for Mick Price with jockey Mark Zahra on board.
My value bet on the card this Saturday comes in race 5, the Sportsbet John Hawkes Stakes (Formerly D C McKay Stakes) (1100m), where I think Recommendation will salute for trainer Ciaron Maher and jockey Mark Zahra.
John’s best of the day comes in race three, the PFD Food Services Chairman’s Stakes (2000m), with McWoody for John Symons and Shelia Laxon and his value bet of the day is Worlds My Oyster in the Sportsbet Queen Of The South Stakes (1600m).
It’s going to be a tremendous day to kick off the 2026 Sportsbet Adelaide Racing Carnival – make sure you make it trackside – or catch all the action on Racing.com.
