Cox Plate Day
We are back for Cox Plate Day at Morphettville on Saturday for a nine-race card to be held on the Main Track with the rail in the true position.
The meeting gets underway with a short-priced favourite from the Stuart Gower yard in Confucious Flyer in the Sportsbet Get On Extra Maiden Plate (1050m), who ran a great second at his only racetrack appearance.
Early markets are suggesting it is a formality he will go one better this weekend.
Two horses I felt could run well early in the day at a bit of value, are Over Yonder in Race 3, the Sportsbet Race Previews Handicap (1050m) and then Damelli in the following event Race 4, the Ule Hoof Oil Handicap (1500m).

I saw no reason why Giggenbach could not continue on its winning way in Race 7, the Kirin Ichiban Handicap (2000m) and I have made it my best of the day.
However, my confidence has been a little bit dented with my Racing.com teammate John Kelton happy to risk Giggenbach, and go looking elsewhere.
The Eagle came up with Placo as his top selection in that particular contest.
John’s best on the program is Virtual Illusion in Race 2, the Greenway Turf Solutions Handicap (1200m) and his value play is Holy Racket in Race 8, the Sportsbet Green Tick Handicap (1200m).
