The Sportsbet Adelaide Racing Carnival continues at Morphettville on Saturday with the running of the Thomas Farms South Australian Derby (2500m).
We have a nine event card of racing with the rail this weekend out three metres for the entire circuit at Morphettville.
Favourite for the Thomas Farms SA Derby is the lightly-raced Northern Hemisphere-bred Accidental Bid, but it is an anxious wait for those connected with the horse at the moment as he is first emergency.
If he manages to sneak into the Group 1 there is no doubt the Ciaron Maher prepared galloper is seemingly going to be right in the finish.

I like the form the Matt Cumani trained Single Choice brings to the Derby and with Jamie Mott to ride is my on top selection.
If Accidental Bid fails to gain a run, my astute Racing.com off sider John Kelton is selecting the filly After Summer for Dominic Sutton and Billy Egan.
Outside of the Thomas Farms SA Derby (2500m), there are two other Black Type Races on the day, in Race 6, the HKJC World Pool Port Adelaide Cup (2518m) and then Race 7, the Adelaide Galvanising Industries Sir John Morphett Adelaide Guineas (1600m). Both events are held at Listed level.
Other horses I am expecting to run well are Tropical House in Race 5, the Winning Edge Presentations Adelaide in Autum Series Final (1600m) with Jamie Melham riding for Jake Stephens and earlier on the day Riche D’Amour is at a nice price in the Sportsbet Handicap (1050m) for trainer Roslyn Day and jockey Connor Murtagh.
John is keen on Eismond in the opening race of the program, the Croser Handicap (2014m) and Starts Now opposing Tropical House in Race 5.
Can’t wait for another cracking day at Morphettville.
