The Cosmic One extends win streak
It was a case of more weight, no worries for The Cosmic One at Morphettville on Saturday.
The sprinter won a fourth consecutive race, the Sportsbet Jockey Watch Handicap (1250m) while carrying 61kg.
It was also a sixth win in the past eight starts for the Travis Doudle-trained five-year old gelding.
Jockey Ben Price has piloted The Cosmic One for five wins in six races and he praised the desire for victory.
“I’m not going to deny that we haven’t said it all along, we think he’s pretty untapped this lad,” Price said.
“He put up a really good figure last start. Obviously he came back in grade, but he jumped seven kilos – so he had a task ahead of him today.

“He’s just a winner, all he wants to do is win.
“I thought with 200m to go they’d be getting to me. He just wobbled a little bit as well, he saw the winning post and wobbled as he has done his past three or four starts.
“I’m praying for a horse to chase in the straight, he’s always been left there (alone) and had to do it on pure ability.
“Honestly, I don’t think I’ve seen him have to knuckle down and run a strong 400m through the line.”
Doudle will now turn his attention to Melbourne’s Spring Carnival and is looking at the Group 3 Rising Fast Stakes (1200m).
A number of interstate raiders secured victories across the nine-race card with Chicago Blues, Tennessee Spirit, Giggenbach and Prestige Zerprise saluting.
Trainer Andrew Gluyas and jockey Jason Holder shared the honours on the day.
Holder rode Somewhere Soon to victory in the The Fotobase Group Handicap (1556m) a then the duo backed up in the last when Dirty Old Town won the Thomas Farms Handicap (1400m).
