Finnegan showed her gratitude post-race with the trainers staying loyal to her ride, despite several jockeys travelling from interstate for Sportsbet Adelaide Cup Day.
A huge crowd of 8521 packed into Morphettville early on Sportsbet Adelaide Cup Day, and they were thrilled first up with a stunning success from gelding Mathematician, who showed its star qualities for trainer Will Clarken to win the Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1050m) with Jamie Melham on board.
That win was the first of a winning treble for Melham, who also piloted Arran Boy to success in the Quayclean C S Hayes Memorial Handicap (1600m) and Celerity in the Thomas Farms Manihi Classic (1100m).
Apprentice jockey Brooke King aso scored her first wins on Sportsbet Adelaide Cup Day with a winning double.
King piloted Brown Nose Day Gal to victory in the Sportsbet Feed Handicap (1600m) and Just A Brother in the Rexco Handicap (2000m).
