After winning on debut last month, Bassett Babe came to town, and the filly claimed a first city win in the Sportsbet Feed Handicap (1250m) at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
Crunched into favouritism with the bookmakers, Bassett Babe managed the tougher opposition on the Parks circuit, cruising to over a two-length victory.
Trainer Andrew Gluyas knew everyone will be watching the daughter of Wootton Bassett, but there did not seem to be any pressure on the team.
Steered home by apprentice jockey Taylor Johnstone, Bassett Babe parked in second before making a move with just over 300m to go, the three-year-old storming home.

Gluyas and Johnstone were back in the winners’ circle later in the day when Tough Talk won a nailbiter in the Thomas Farms Handicap (1250m).
Trainer Dan Clarken is looking forward to this Saturday’s Lord Reims Stakes (2600m), a key lead-up race to the 2026 Sportsbet Adelaide Cup, after Coorong Tycoon narrowly won the Fleurieu Milk Company Handicap (2250m).
Port Augusta trainer Brendon Davis won his first metropolitan event when Over Yonder won the Canadian Club Handicap (1000m).
Along with Johnstone, jockeys Jake Toeroek and Teagan Voorham both rode winning doubles on Saturday.
Voorham was aboard Over Yonder as well as winning the Quayclean Maiden Plate (1000m) on Bardigrub, while Toeroek claimed honours on High on Sugar in the Sportsbet Adelaide Cup Day Monday 9 March Handicap (1250m) and in the last of the day, the Sportsbet Blackbook Handicap (1400m) aboard Streetcar Apollo.
