Trainer Paula Trenwith has continued her recent success with an $800 investment claiming a maiden victory at Morphettville Parks on Saturday.
Fluttering Ruby edged out So Polite in a thrilling finish to win the Sportsbet Jockey Watch Maiden Plate over 1000m, a week after Trenwith won the $105,000 Riziz Final with Ginger Sinner.
Trenwith acquired Fluttering Ruby for a just $800 at an Inglis Online Sale in April. The four-year-old mare was passed in at the 2023 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale, failing to meet reserve of $120,000. She then had a preparation under trainer Ciaron Maher, featuring in three jumpouts at Cranbourne earlier this year.

The daughter of Flying Artie settled fourth under jockey Rochelle Milnes and found a gap at the halfway mark. before going head-to-head with So Polite, the win was Milnes’ first for Trenwith.
It was a perfect day for trainers Shayne Cahill and Chelsea Cahill, claiming a race-to-race double with Mintulee in the Winning Edge Presentations Handicap (1000m), before Enuff Seduction saluted the judge in the Hahn Handicap (1000m).
Enuff Seduction’s win gave jockey Caitlin Jones a winning double after an earlier victory aboard the Richard Jolly and Chantelle Jolly-trained Autumn Frost in the AIG Security Handicap (1300m).
Jockey Jacob Opperman produced a great ride to guide favourite Pelevecchio to a two-length victory over 2250m in the Croser Handicap for Phillip Stokes’ Morphettville stable.
The rest of Saturday’s race meeting belonged to trainer Darryl Dodson, claiming a race-to-race double of his own to finish the card, I Catchem Fox winning the Festival Hire Handicap (1550m), before Captain Joolian saluted in the Sportsbet Get On Extra Handicap (1400m).
