The South Australian Jockey Club – Morphettville has been crowned Best Function / Event Venue at the 2025 Clubs SA Clubs and Community Awards evening, held at the Wolf Blass ‘The Man’ Event Centre on Saturday night.
Morphettville CEO Grant Mayer said the Best Function / Event Venue award, won by the Club for a second year-in-a-row, is fantastic recognition of the dedication and hard work at the South Australian Jockey Club.
“To win this award is a testament to everyone, our board, our staff and our members,” Mayer said.
“This recognition shows we as a Club are trending in the right direction.”
The Junction was nominated for four awards, including Best Gaming – Small and Best Dining – Café/Bistro, while Kristy Behrndt was nominated for Club Manager of the Year, and Sarah Jones for Club Chef of the Year.
Steven Clark was nominated for Club Chef of the Year and Suji Thomas Club Cook / Apprentice of the Year, while Morphettville had three nominations for Rising Star of the Year; Maddie Trotter, Jaymie Connell and Mark Romantico.
Earlier this year, the Club was recognised at the Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence, winning both Caterer of the Year and Event/Convention Centre Caterer of the Year.
The Club is a national finalist for Event / Convention Centre Caterer, with the winner to be announced at the gala dinner in Sydney on October 27
