The past twelve months have seen several projects taking place across the Morphettville Precinct, and most recently the upgraded Track and Maintenance Shed has neared completion with the team to set up in time for Spring Carnival.
For the team it is an opportunity to create more streamlined processes and spend more time looking after the track and grounds with the new location being centralised.
Track Manager, Justin Groves is excited to be bringing the team to a new and accessible location.
“It will be one hub for the maintenance and track teams and having the mod-cons with everything we need is a huge improvement.
“Our downtime moving machinery to and from the track entry is going to be less, so it gives us more time out on the track to perform our tasks daily,” he said.
Out of the track shed it will house all the grounds machinery, staff offices, electrical, woodworking and welding areas to ensure it is a full functioning location.
For CEO, Grant Mayer, looking after our number one asset is important to the club, and continuing to invest as such is only a positive for Morphettville.
“We have built the biggest shed on the southern side of the racecourse, and it doesn’t look out of place,” Mayer said.
“It is a great space for our staff and provides them with the opportunity to feel like they feel like they are home.
“The location is really important and by putting it so close to the track it allows our team to be far more efficient,” he said.
