Morphettville Turf Reaches New Heights

5 August 2025

As South Australia’s premier racing venue, Morphettville Racecourse has long been known for its world-class facilities and in 2025, its turf is turning heads for all the right reasons.

With the 2025/2026 Racing Season set to kick off this Wednesday, the Turf and Track Management team at Morphettville has continued to execute a comprehensive turf management program that’s delivering exceptional results, both in appearance and performance.

With more than 120 racing-related activities held at Morphettville annually including race days, official barrier trials, jump outs and daily trackwork, the integrity and performance of all tracks are essential to South Australia’s racing ecosystem. Working closely with Racing SA and key suppliers, the team ensures that each surface not only meets but exceeds expectations, helping to future-proof the venue.

Morphettville, Head of Property and Infrastructure, Brad Trenwith said the team is extremely proud of the program.

“The turf has seen some fantastic results since we implemented the program, which is visibly evident,” Trenwith said.

“Our goal has always been simple, to cultivate a healthy, balanced surface capable of withstanding the high demands of a full racing calendar.

“Overall, the track is in superb condition, and we should all be very proud of that.”

With the new season underway and Spring Carnival just around the corner, punters, trainers, and jockeys alike can be confident they’re racing on one of the best-prepared and carefully managed tracks in the country.
