Despite the Jolly stable claiming the $120,000 feature event, the day was dominated by Phillip Stokes and Will Clarken.

Stokes, the current leader of the Adelaide trainers’ premiership, snared a treble in the nine-race card, with victories for Skipjack in the Sportsbet Fast Form Handicap (1050m), Regal Ripper in the Sportsbet Black Book Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1200m) and the highly touted Yellowjacket in the Hahn Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate (1200m).

Yellowjacket was super impressive, sprinting away with a three-length win in the 1200m Maiden over Torpedoes and Cathay Express.

Trainer Clarken started the day in style, before also securing a treble later in the program. Jockey Kayla Crowther piloted Komachi to a tough victory win the opener, the Sportsbet More Places Handicap (1800m), while Thunder Shoc was another strong winner in the Festival Hire Handicap (1200m), under the guidance of jockey Todd Pannell.

Crowther led Clarence home late to snare a Clarken quinella over 1200m behind Thunder Shoc, and after wins aboard Komachi and Yellowjacket, Crowther secured herself and Clarken a treble, guiding Mic Drop to a come-from-behind win over Mintulee in the Thomas Farms Handicap (1050m).

Opperman claimed a double when the hoop steered World’s My Oyster home in the AIG Security Handicap (1200m) after earlier claiming success aboard Skipjack.

Jockey Caitlin Jones also scored a double with wins on Regal Ripper and Maxxi Bon in the final race, The Fotobase Group Handicap (1600m).
